PGCE and QTS
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

A PGCE is an option which we offer in addition to QTS. This carries 60 Masters credits and is accredited by a Higher Education Institute.
The PGCE element of our course aims to develop the practical knowledge and theoretical understanding required to work with primary school children. This area is currently led by Oxford Brookes University and trainees attend seminars run by the university throughout the year. These take place at Chepping View. Three main assignments need to completed – ‘The Excellent Practitioner’, ‘Key Issues in Teaching and Learning’ and ‘Supporting Evidence Informed Practice’.
