Support and Mentoring

At Chepping View Primary Academy SCITT we firmly believe that if trainees feel secure and happy then they are more likely to fulfil their potential and enjoy the course. We ensure that trainees have the support they need as they progress through the programme .

A team of Teacher Tutors and School-based Mentors are responsible for supporting the trainees as they spend time learning and developing their practice in our partnership schools. The role of a Teacher Tutor/School-based Mentor is to act in a ‘critical friend’ capacity, and they are responsible for coaching, supporting and monitoring trainees’ progress towards the recommendation of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Alongside the Teacher Tutors and School-based Mentors within our partnership schools, we also have a team of Quality Assurance Mentors, who are self-employed and work directly for the SCITT. They provide you with professional support and mentoring as well as ensuring you are happily managing your work load, responsibilities and wellbeing.

The programme is flexible and adapted to suit the needs of each individual as trainees enter the programme with different strengths and experiences.

In addition, the leadership team at Chepping View Primary Academy SCITT are always on hand to offer support and guidance.
